Appointments
We offer a variety of appointments in practice to try and improve your access to see the GP of your choice.
- Routine Appointments – These can be booked up to four weeks in advance and are useful for non-urgent problems or follow up reviews with GP’s
- Same Day – These appointments are for problems that require prompt assessment or ongoing conditions that have deteriorated. The majority of our appointments are same day and these can be booked by phoning the practice at 8am that day.
- Emergency Surgery – we have an exceptionally high demand for appointments in practice, however, if you have been unable to get a same day appointment in practice and feel that your problem is an emergency and cannot wait until tomorrow then you will be offered to be seen in the emergency surgery. There has been an increase in mis-use of this emergency surgery therefore if you are unsure whether your problem requires to be seen then please discuss with the reception team or see our Who to See When Page.
- House calls – These can be booked for housebound patients who can not attend the practice for review, whenever possible please make requests for house visits by 10am. It is also helpful if you can give the receptionist some indication of their condition and reason for request as this enables the doctor to prioritise visits accordingly.
Our reception team deal with a high level of calls each morning at 8am, when the majority of same day appointments are booked. We are aware that this can be frustrating for patients and we are looking at ways to address this. We thank you for your patience when trying to contact us at this time.
